From France to USA

Alexandre was born and raised in Uzes, South of France. While working in his previous career as a civil engineer he had the chance to travel all around the world. However, his passion for baking and creating delicious food became stronger by the day. After some consideration, he made the decision to realize his dream! He quit his job, sold his house and moved to USA to open his own French bakery!

Angela is from Paris. She grown up with multicultural taste from her Spanish mom and Singaporean father. She met Alexandre at a restaurant, just let's say their common love for delicious food was at the origin of their love story!

In 2016, they started from scratch a local bakery and Cafe - Le Café Gourmet in Savannah, Georgia. That was quite a challenge, but challenge is what motivates them! After 6 years, their bakery was established with a strong reputation, many wholesales accounts and several Farmers Markets. Expecting a second child, they decided to sell the business, slow down and focus on their family.

In 2023, they made Lake Norman area their new home and decided to start a new adventure with Cocotte!

In 2024, after numerous construction delays, Cocotte finally received the green light to open its doors. They decided to open just three days later, even though everything wasn’t fully ready. The wait had been long enough for both the team and the supportive Lake Norman community!

On August 4th, Cocotte served its first customer, followed by an unexpected crowd eager to experience what they'd been anticipating.

From that day forward, Alexandre and Angela worked tirelessly, seven days a week, to meet the growing demand. Within the first week, they doubled their daily production and continued expanding, bringing new team members on board and training them during rush hour to ensure every customer was satisfied. To say their first month was a marathon would be an understatement! But they know this is just the beginning, and they’re ready to keep pushing forward with passion and determination!
